Autumn Outdoor Well-Being Activities 2024
A gentle local guided and supported bike ride around the Tyne and Wear area. No more than 15 miles. Free use of mountain bikes, helmet and cycling equipment. A good introduction to developing your cycle skills, meeting new people and improving your fitness. We will meet at a local point within Tyneside close to a Metro station and undertake a cycle ride on tracks, cycle paths and local Waggon ways. Stopping for regular breaks and going at a steady pace. Returning back to our start point.
An opportunity to have a go at outdoor rock climbing in wonderful scenic part of Northumberland. All necessary outdoor rock climbing equipment and transportation provided. Meeting at a local Metro station we will drive to our venue and walk a short distance to a crag with splendid views of the local countryside. A relaxed and easy going activity to try introductory rock climbing and gain a sense of achievement and physical fitness. Returning back to our meeting point.
A rural walk in our local Cheviot hills enjoying wide open views of the surround Northumberland scenery. Walking on open terrain, steep in some parts but going at a steady pace, with numerous rests en route. Enjoy the fresh air, wonderful views and escape for the day from the urban pressures. Free minibus transportation from a local Metro station. Opportunity to borrow outdoor equipment upon request.
Tuesday 15th Oct Twilight Urban Bike Ride 5 - 8 pm £10
Our twilight bike rides are designed to enable people who would not normally cycle in dark places. Providing the opportunity to feel safe and supported as we explore the local tracks, parks and darker parts of Tyneside. Bicycles supplied with lights, stopping for regular breaks, following a circular route. Distance no more than 15 miles. Meeting near a local Metro station.
Saturday 19th Oct Overnight Woodland camp / bivvy 2pm - 2pm £30
Come and join us for a woodland overnight camp / bivvy. Do some woodwork crafting, preparing and setting up your camp to sleep under the stars or a tarp. Get cosy as you sit next to a crackling fire and cook your dinner. All cooking facilities, tarps & tools included. * Food and sleeping bag not included. Free minibus transport from Tyneside to the woodland site. Tents available to borrow.
Tuesday 22nd Oct Twilight Bike Ride 5 - 8pm £10
Another chance to explore Tyneside by twilight and darker skies. Designed to enable people who would not normally cycle in dark places. Providing the opportunity to feel safe and supported as we explore the local tracks, parks and darker parts of Tyneside. Bicycles supplied with lights, stopping for regular breaks, following a circular route. Distance no more than 15 miles. Meeting near a local Metro station.
Thursday 24th Oct Canoeing river trip 9:30 - 4:30pm £25
An opportunity to enjoy a gentle canoe river trip on some of our wonderful local rivers. You will be supported as we paddle in tandem an open canoe carrying our lunch and stopping en route to enjoy the local scenery and peace and solitude. All canoeing equipment and minibus transportation provided. Meeting at a local Metro station.
Sunday 27th Oct Hadrian’s Wall walk 9:30 - 5:30pm £25
Come and join us for our last Autumn walk along some of the most scenic parts of Hadrian's Wall. A circular walk with plenty of ups and downs to develop your leg muscles. Stopping for plenty of breaks and going at a steady pace, you will marvel at the stunning scenery en route. Free minibus transport from Tyneside, opportunity to borrow walking boots, waterproofs, rucksacks etc.

FREE - Guided Cycle Rides, & Learn to Fix Bikes
Summer 2024
Available now to book for adults, charities, NHS Referrals etc. wishing to improve and develop cycling skills, confidence and knowledge. Take part in 16 free sessions during this summer. We provide all the necessary bicycle equipment, tools and bicycles or bring your own.
Ideal for people wishing to either re-learn cycling skills or begin cycling for the first time. We will be delivering 16 introductory guided bicycle rides throughout Tyne and Wear. See our Calendar page for postcode locations.

Available now to book for individuals or community groups within North Tyneside borough. Come and join us for a guided health walk or cycle ride. Free minibus transportation from local venue, free use of mountain bikes and cycling equipment.

Free Winter Cycle Rides - December 2023 & January 2024
WinG Outdoor Activities has on offer numerous free guided introductory cycle rides for adults, families, community groups, charities & NHS referrals. Take part in free led introductory cycle rides developing your cycling confidence riding in small groups. Learn about basic bicycle maintenance, equipment and tools. Cycle rides typically no more than 13 miles maximum. You can bring your own bike or use one of ours for free. We'll also provide you with a helmet, cycling equipment and look after you while you have peace of mind enjoying a short easy pleasant bike ride. Delivered throughout Tyne and Wear.

Rock Climbing Tuesday 19th September Cost £25 per person
Experience the thrill of outdoor rock climbing in wonderful Northumberland settings 1 hour drive from Newcastle centre. Delivered in small friendly adult groups ideal for beginners wishing to try short introductory rock climbing. Free transport provided from Newcastle / Gateshead venues. Travel time 1 hour. Country Walk in Northumberland Thursday 21st September Cost £25 per person
Take part in easy / moderate country walk taking in the green and pleasant views of rolling Northumberland hills. Delivered in small friendly adult groups and learn basic map reading skills. Walk distance between 5 and 8 miles. Free transport provided from Newcastle / Gateshead venues. Travel time 45 minutes. Pick up time: 9:30am - Return time: 5pm
Mountain Bike Cycle Ride Sunday 24th September Cost £20 per person
Come along for an easy semi-rural group cycle ride using our fleet of mountain bikes. Delivered in small friendly adult groups. Bushcraft Forest Cooking Tuesday 3rd October Cost £20 per person
Take some out in the woods enjoying the some 'forest bathing' cooking your lunch over a crackling fire.
